So 3 days ago, a friend of mine contacted me asking for advice on property investment in Vietnam. She had read about the new regulation changes and believe there is potential in buying an apartment here. There are 2 main popular areas in Ho Chi Minh City now – District 2 and District 7. After some consideration, she decided on getting an apartment in the upcoming District 2 area. You should read my previous post if you want to know why District 2 is probably the best area to stay in. So below are the 3 top new developments I have shortlisted if you are also looking for an apartment in District 2, Ho Chi Minh City.
Gateway Thao Dien
Gateway Thao Dien is a high-end luxurious apartment by Son Kim Land, a local developer. They have partnered with UK’s Hamon Developments for this development, with Hamon Developments assigned to managed the property upon completion.
Gateway Thao Dien comprises of luxury apartments, serviced residences, integrated facilities, boutique retail space, a F&B courtyard targeting international standard restaurants and cafes. This ambitious development has won the Best Apartment Project in Vietnam and Best Luxury Apartment in Ho Chi Minh City.
Gateway Thao Dien apartments includes studio units, and 1 to 4 bedroom units. These units size ranges betweem 49 square meters to 143 square meters. Within the development, there will be a swimming pool, children’s playground, kindergarten, wine cellar, sauna and BBQ area.
Estella Heights is the new high-end development by Singapore’s Keppel Land. Following the success of The Estella apartments, Keppel Land and Tien Phuoc, is now developing Phase 2 of the developments – Estella Heights.
Located right across the highway to Gateway Thao Dien, Estella Heights comprises of more than 700 units spread across 4 33-storey towers. There are units ranging from 1 bedroom to 4 bedrooms in this luxurious development.
Within the development, Estella Heights has a wide range of facilities such as gymnasium, sky gardens, jogging trails, tennis courts, a 50m resort-style swimming pool, a 50m infinity lap pool, and 2 storeys of basement parking etc. There will also be a shopping mall right below Tower 3 and Tower 4.
Masteri Thao Dien
Masteri Thao Dien is a mid-end mega development in the Distrcit 2 area. This development comprises of 4 towers – each between 41 to 45 storeys tall, making the total number of apartments in this development 3,021. The units are 1 to 3 bedrooms and ranges from 48 square meters to 91 square meters in size. Penthouses are duplex units with private gardens.
One of the key reason why Master Thao Dien is a good property to invest in is due to its location. The Ho Chi Minh City Metro Line No. 1 An Phu station is located right in front of this property, making it a breeze for expats staying here to travel to the city center in District 1.
There is also a Mega Shopping Mall managed by Vincom within the development. This mega mall has an area of 120,000 square meters and will be the biggest mall in the whole of District 2.
While in terms of facilities and quality, Masteri Thao Dien cannot compare with both Gateway Thao Dien and Estella Heights, the mega mall and close proximity to the metro station is a big plus for investors.
